Volunteering

We offer the chance to volunteer abroad in Ningbo, China. The Volunteer programs combine a service learning experience with Chinese language immersion for an unforgettable intercultural experience.

Volunteering can be the experience of a lifetime and for some, a life changing experience. The language center promotes cultural and language exchange between China and the rest of the world through its volunteering and culture/language learning program in Ningbo. It will be a life-changing experience combining meaningful volunteer work with various cultural learning activities including Chinese language lessons and lectures on Chinese culture and history. The volunteer opportunities and cultural learning activities are available for anyone who is interested in learning about the culture and the Chinese language. The volunteering programs are designed for international volunteers and Chinese language learners, and organized by local Chinese people. Our volunteers work alongside Chinese educators helping with language learners and cultural events as arts and crafts; or providing a pair of desperately needed extra hands.

Our Volunteer positions are:

· available for Language immersing programs and cultural exchange programs

· available both for short- and long-term commitments

· offered in a variety of social and community organizations

The volunteering Program fee is $300 each week plus a $200 registration fee (which should be paid at least 4 weeks before program start date). The program fee covers:

· Food and accommodation

· Program-related transportation

· Cultural and language learning activities

· Airport pick-up and drop off

Program fee does NOT cover your airfares, visa fee and travel insurance during your stay.

Program length:

You can choose to stay from 4 weeks to 8 weeks in the program.

Accommodation & food:

The volunteers will be staying in an apartment shared with other volunteers, or a home-stay with a local family, or a hotel, depending on the accommodation availability and number of volunteers. There will be basic facilities like TV, Internet, air conditioner/heater and drinking water with each type of accommodation. Three meals per day are provided for volunteers in the apartment or home-stay family.
